James over at Wigderson Library & Pub posted this quote from Paul Hackett, Democratic candidate for senator in Ohio:
"The Republican Party has been hijacked by the religious fanatics that, in my opinion, aren't a whole lot different than Osama bin Laden and a lot of the other religious nuts around the world."
James believes that Hackett is certifiable (psst, as in crazy). Hmmm...let's see who is crazy.
I want to be invisible. I do guerrilla warfare. I paint my face and travel at night. You don't know it's over until you're in a body bag. -- Ralph Reed
I want you to just let a wave of intolerance wash over you. I want you to let a wave of hatred wash over you. Yes, hate is good...Our goal is a Christian nation. We have a Biblical duty, we are called by God, to conquer this country. We don't want equal time. We don't want pluralism.
--Randall Terry, Founder of Operation Rescue
We're going to bring back God and the Bible and drive the gods of secular humanism right out of the public schools of America. -- Pat Buchanan addressing an anti-gay rally in Des Moines
I don't know that atheists should be considered citizens, nor should they be considered patriots. This is one nation under God. -- George Bush (the uniter)
Televangelist and biblical prophecy expert (self proclaimed) Jack Van Impe, had this to say about Pat Robertson...
And right now, the National Association of Evangelicals informs us that this man has done damage, and it could actually take the lives of some of the missionaries in South America because the news media in South America is bombarding this thing across the airwaves around the clock. God forgive him.
Not only that, but Mr. Robertson, you are pro-life, and yet you wanted the members of the Supreme Court to die last year, and now the president of Venezuela. We believe this book: Thou shalt not kill; Exodus 20, verse 13. And my Bible says that this is wrong, and I want to challenge you right now to change your ways. Because we as Christians do not need an Osami [sic] Bin Laden leading us.
And last but not least, Jerry Falwell and his infamous 9/11 accusation.
The abortionists have got to bear some burden for this because God will not be mocked. And when we destroy 40 million little innocent babies, we make God mad. I really believe that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People for the American Way, all of them who have tried to secularize America, I point the finger in their face and say: you helped this happen.
And the winner in the certifiable category is...not Paul Hackett.

Can you name the wacko endtime view that inspires Van Impe, Falwell, Crouch, Lindsey, LaHaye, etc.? Theologians call it the "any-moment, pretribulation rapture" - which supposedly is imminent and has to occur several years BEFORE the second coming. If you go to engines like Yahoo and type in "Pretrib Rapture Diehards," you will see newly found facts about the 175-year-old history of that escapist view which didn't take over American evangelicalism before 1909 - that's how recent it is, Americawise! The above article has the documentation that Van Impe etc. fear the most because it shows the groundless origin of it and moreover reveals the massive dishonesty (like plagiarism, changing of early documents, etc.) throughout its short and bizarre history which was swept under the rug for more than a century! For some time now the rapture-ranters have seen the handwriting on the wall, aware that sooner or later the sordid history of their nonsense would be revealed. So now they are desperately milking their cash cow for all it's worth before it kicks the bucket! I hope you air the newly discovered story about the rapture's long-covered-up history!
ReplyDeleteConsider:
ReplyDeleteThe missing element in every human 'solution' is
an accurate definition of the creature.
The way we define 'human' determines our view
of self, others, relationships, institutions, life, and
future. Important? Only the Creator who made us
in His own image is qualified to define us accurately.
Choose wisely...there are results.
Many problems in human experience are the result of
false and inaccurate definitions of humankind premised
in man-made religions and humanistic philosophies.
Each individual human being possesses a unique, highly
developed, and sensitive perception of diversity. Thus
aware, man is endowed with a natural capability for enact-
ing internal mental and external physical selectivity.
Quantitative and qualitative choice-making thus lends
itself as the superior basis of an active intelligence.
Human is earth's Choicemaker. His title describes
his definitive and typifying characteristic. Recall
that his other features are but vehicles of experi-
ence intent on the development of perceptive
awareness and the following acts of decision and
choice. Note that the products of man cannot define
him for they are the fruit of the discerning choice-
making process and include the cognition of self,
the utility of experience, the development of value-
measuring systems and language, and the accultur-
ation of civilization.
The arts and the sciences of man, as with his habits,
customs, and traditions, are the creative harvest of
his perceptive and selective powers. Creativity, the
creative process, is a choice-making process. His
articles, constructs, and commodities, however
marvelous to behold, deserve neither awe nor idol-
atry, for man, not his contrivance, is earth's own
highest expression of the creative process.
Human is earth's Choicemaker. The sublime and
significant act of choosing is, itself, the Archimedean
fulcrum upon which man levers and redirects the
forces of cause and effect to an elected level of qual-
ity and diversity. Further, it orients him toward a
natural environmental opportunity, freedom, and
bestows earth's title, The Choicemaker, on his
singular and plural brow.
Human is earth's Choicemaker. Psalm 25:12 He is by
nature and nature's God a creature of Choice - and of
Criteria. Psalm 119:30,173 His unique and definitive
characteristic is, and of Right ought to be, the natural
foundation of his environments, institutions, and re-
spectful relations to his fellow-man. Thus, he is orien-
ted to a Freedom whose roots are in the Order of the
universe.
Let us proclaim it. Behold!
